Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 13 articles, promulgates the Basic Agreement for Technical Cooperation between the Federate Republic of Brazil and the Republic of Liberia, signed in Monrovia on 29 May 2009. The Agreement, considering the mutual interest in improving and stimulating the socio-economic development of their respective countries; convinced of the need to emphasize sustainable development; and recognizing the reciprocal benefits of technical cooperation in areas of common interest; promulgates that the Contracting Parties may use trilateral cooperation mechanisms, through triangular partnerships with other countries, international organizations and regional agencies to promote technical cooperation in the priority areas of the Contracting Parties. This Agreement shall be valid for five years and shall be automatically extended for equal and successive periods unless one of the Contracting Parties manifests its intention to denounce it. The denunciation shall take effect six (6) months after its formalization.
