Decree No. 9.424 regulating art. 17 of Law No. 8.629 providing for the granting of credits for settlement projects to the beneficiaries of the National Agrarian Reform Programme.

This Decree regulates art. 17 of Law No. 8.629 providing for the granting of credits for the installation of settlement projects to the beneficiaries of the National Agrarian Reform Programme. The management of credit concessions will be under the National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform - INCRA. Credits will be granted as follows: support the installation in the settlement project and the acquisition of necessities; enable the implementation of productive projects to promote food and nutritional security and stimulate the generation of work and income; enable the implementation of a productive project under the responsibility of the woman holding the parcel; meet water security needs of families based on settlement projects located in semi-arid areas, recognized by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) (to support solutions for abstraction, storage and distribution of drinking water for human, animal and irrigation use); enable the implementation and sustainable maintenance of agroforestry systems or the forest management of lots and legal reserve area with native vegetation in agrarian reform projects created or recognized by INCRA; enable the implementation and sustainable maintenance of forest or agroforestry systems or forest management of lots, legal reserve area and permanent preservation area, regarding agrarian reform projects created or recognized by Incra; enable the implementation and recovery of cocoa crops, in an agroforestry system; enable the construction of rural housing in agrarian reform projects created or recognized by INCRA; etc.
