Abstract
This Decree creates the State Committee for Forest Fire Management, made up of representatives from government bodies and organizations, civil society and private sector institutions whose objectives include protecting the environment. The State Forest Fire Management Plan (PEGIF) will be aimed at integrating actions that combine ecological, socio-economic and technical aspects, aimed at controlling fires and preventing forest fires in the state of Goiás and fighting them and should contain the following: means for constant monitoring, evaluation, adaptation and redirection of these actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve socio-biodiversity and reduce the quantity, intensity and severity of forest fires; policies and guidelines to be followed jointly by the member bodies and organisations; actions for which each member of this collegiate body is responsible; prevention policy; integrated fire management; response actions; and measures for recovering affected areas.
