Law No. 10.983 creating the State Policy for Women's Empowerment.

This Law creates the State Policy for Women's Empowerment aimed at establishing general guidelines and standards, as well as basic criteria to ensure, promote and protect the full and equal exercise of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by women. The State Policy for Women's Empowerment will be implemented with the general objective of strengthening and articulating democratic mechanisms of dialogue, as well as joint action between civil society and the federal, state and municipal authorities. In formulating, executing, monitoring, evaluating public programmes and policies as well as improving public management, the proposed objectives and guidelines will be considered.
