Law No. 11.492 creating the Policy for Meat-Goat Production in the State of Paraíba.

This Law creates the Policy for Meat-Goat Production in the State of Paraíba aiming to regulate and encourage its production in the State of Paraíba. The specific objectives of the Policy are: promote the production and consumption of goat meat; carry out controls and inspections on the production; promote the development and competitiveness of the production sectors with a view to technical and economic viability; integrate the different sectors that make up the goat production chain, with the development of economic and technological cooperation networks; intensify management, with efficiency in productivity and profitability; regulate slaughtering and trading of goat farming products, aiming to improve the quality of products offered to the consumer, providing for food security, reducing informal slaughter and combating animal rustling; encourage the artisanal processing of products from goats; encourage research, technical assistance and rural extension, for the technological modernization and management of the productive chain of goat farming; improve the genetic material of animals, with the development of more productive breeds, adapted and capable of generating products of better quality for the consumer; make productive investments aimed at meeting the demands of the goat market.
