Law No. 12.131 establishing the Women in Politics Programme in the State of Mato Grosso.

This Law establishes the Women in Politics Programme with the aim of encouraging women's participation in political activity. The Programme will have the following main actions, without excluding others pertinent to its objective: I - raising women's awareness of the importance of their participation in political activity in the state; II - preparing and distributing information material on the means of participating in political activity, the procedures for joining a political party and other essential information on the subject; III - encouraging women who are members of a political party to run for elected office and encouraging others to join a political party with which they have an ideological affinity; IV - making it possible to hold lectures, seminars and courses on women's training and participation in politics; V - encouraging young women between the ages of 16 and 18 to register to vote.
