Abstract
This Law establishes the State Council of Traditional Peoples and Communities of Mato Grosso (CEPCT/MT) with the primary objective of coordinating the formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the State Policy and the State Plan for Traditional Peoples and Communities. It seeks to ensure the recognition, protection, and consolidation of the rights of traditional peoples and communities, grounded in respect for their social, cultural, economic, environmental, ethnic, and territorial diversity, as well as their ancestral ways of life and collective relationship with their territories. The Law also aims to strengthen participatory governance and institutional articulation by establishing a deliberative and consultative framework that promotes effective social participation in public decision‑making. Through the CEPCT/MT, the Law seeks to integrate policies across government sectors, combat discrimination and social exclusion, support sustainable development, and foster dialogue between the State and traditional peoples and communities.
