Law No. 12.413 creating the State Policy on Public Safety and Social Protection within the State of Mato Grosso.

This Law establishes the State Policy on Public Security and Social Protection with the primary objective of preserving public order and safeguarding the integrity of people, property, and the environment through coordinated, systemic, and integrated action by public security and social protection institutions. Aligned with the principles and guidelines of the National Public Security Policy and the Unified Public Security System (SUSP), the Law seeks to ensure efficient prevention, control, and repression of criminal activity, while promoting respect for human rights, transparency, and protection and appreciation of public security personnel. In addition, the Law aims to strengthen governance, institutional integration, and evidence‑based policymaking in the field of public security by defining objectives, strategies, instruments, and mechanisms for planning, monitoring, and evaluation. It prioritizes the reduction of crime and corruption, the prevention of violence against vulnerable groups, and the modernization and humanitary system.
