This Law provides for the Acquisition of Foodstuff from Family Farming within the scope of school feeding. The purchase of the above mentioned foodstuff must comply with the menu planned by the nutritionist and will be made, whenever possible, from local and regional suppliers where the schools are located. Of the total amount of the State's own financial resources used to purchase foodstuff for school meals, at least 30% must be purchased directly from family farmers and rural entrepreneurs or their organisations, with priority given to agrarian reform settlements and traditional indigenous communities.
