Abstract
This Law establishes the Policy for the Reception and Management of Rescued Animals (Amar), aimed at the protection, rescue, reception and management of animals affected by emergencies, accidents and disasters, whose principles, objectives, guidelines and instruments, as well as the responsibilities of the public authorities, the entrepreneur and civil society, are established in this Law. In particular, Amar's objectives are: to reduce the mortality of domestic and wild animals in emergencies, accidents, and environmental disasters, whether natural or caused by human action; to promote the defense of animal rights; to integrate public policies for environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and civil defense, as well as the actions of different levels of government, in order to guarantee effective protection for animals affected by disasters; to guide communities to include the protection of animals under their care in their disaster response behaviors.
