Law No. 15.913 providing for the Alto Tietê Cabeceiras Springs Protection and Recovery Area (APRMATC), its Intervention Areas, respective guidelines and environmental and urban planning standards of regional interest for the protection and recovery of springs.

This Law provides for the Alto Tietê Cabeceiras Springs Protection and Recovery Area (APRM-ATC). Its main objectives aim to: implement participatory and decentralized management of the APRM-ATC, integrating government sectors and bodies and civil society; to ensure and enhance the function of the Alto Tietê Producer System as a water supplier primarily for public supply, guaranteeing its quality and quantity; maintain a balanced environment, at adequate levels of health, through environmental management, the supply of drinking water, the collection and treatment or export of sanitary sewage for treatment outside the boundaries of the APRM-ATC, solid waste management and the use of rainwater, promoting the environmental sustainability of land use and occupation; establish the basic conditions and instruments to ensure and expand water production in quantity and quality to supply the population, with the aim of promoting the preservation, recovery and conservation of the springs of the Alto Tietê Producer System, etc.
