Law No. 17.504 creating the State Council for Women's Rights of Paraná under the organizational structure of the State Secretariat responsible for women's public policy, and establishing the State Fund for Women's Rights.

This Law creates, in the organizational structure of the State Secretariat responsible for women's public policy, at a higher management level, the State Council for Women's Rights of Paraná (CEDM/PR) a collegiate body with a consultative, propositional, supervisory and deliberative nature. CEDM/PR aims to enable popular participation and propose guidelines for government action aimed at promoting women's rights and acting in the control of public policies for equality between the genders, as well as exercising normative and consultative guidance on the women's rights in the State of Paraná. CEDM/PR has the following responsibilities: promote global policy, aiming to eliminate discrimination that affects women in all aspects of economic, social, political and cultural life; evaluate, propose, discuss and participate in the formulation and supervision of related public policies; propose the adoption of mechanisms and instruments that ensure popular participation and control over public policies for the promotion and guarantee of women's rights; monitor the preparation and evaluation of the State's budget proposal; monitor the granting of aid and subsidies to legal entities governed by private law working to assist women; encourage and support the carrying out of events, studies and research in this field; coordinate with public and private bodies aimed to encourage and improve relationships and systematic exchange on the promotion of women's rights; encourage the creation and operation of Municipal Women’s Rights Councils, etc.
