Law No. 17.609 creating the Policy for the Agricultural Modernization within the State of Ceará.

This Law establishes the Policy for the Increase and Modernization of Agricultural Activity within the State of Ceará. The Policy consists of the development of actions, in partnerships with municipalities in Ceará and representative entities, that enable the expansion of cultivated areas in the State and the increase in rural productivity, with prioritization of family farming and agroecological production. The objectives of the Policy are: the expansion of cultivated areas in the State; the availability of technological inputs that make the stages of the agricultural process faster and more economical, with a consequent increase in productivity; the reduction of production costs; promoting precision agriculture; the provision of machinery and equipment to farmers that contribute to agricultural activity; the adoption of soil and water management and conservation practices, vegetative, soil and mechanical practices, aiming at the sustainability of agroecosystems.
