Law No. 19.226 establishing the State Policy on Corporate Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Social Innovation.

This Law establishes the State Policy on Corporate Responsibility, Sustainable Development and Social Innovation in Pernambuco, with the primary objective of promoting the integration of the productive sector, public authorities, and civil society to foster ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible business practices. It aims to encourage economic, social, and environmental sustainability through public‑private cooperation, corporate governance, and innovation, while promoting principles such as transparency, environmental and labor compliance, social inclusion, and respect for human rights. By aligning private sector initiatives with public policies, the law seeks to strengthen responsible business conduct and contribute to balanced and sustainable development. In addition, the law aims to operationalize this policy through concrete objectives and structured areas of action, including the promotion of responsible and environmentally sound business practices, support for professional training and sustainable entrepreneurship, and the rational use of natural resources and adoption of circular economy approaches. It also seeks to enhance community well‑being by encouraging corporate participation in social, cultural, and educational initiatives, fostering partnerships, and disseminating good practices. Through its multidimensional approach—covering business, educational, environmental, and social axes—the law aims to generate positive social impact and long‑term sustainable development outcomes.
