Abstract
This Law establishes the State Policy for the Reduction of Digital Exposure and Promotion of Contact with Nature in Childhood in the State of Pernambuco, with the primary objective of reducing excessive screen time among children and adolescents and promoting healthier digital habits. It aims to prevent physical and psychological harms associated with overexposure to electronic devices, while encouraging regular interaction with natural environments as a means of fostering physical, emotional, and social development. The law also seeks to strengthen family and community bonds through coordinated actions across sectors such as education, health, social assistance, and the environment, ensuring a comprehensive and intersectoral approach to child development. In addition, the law aims to operationalize this policy through awareness campaigns, professional training, educational materials, and community-based initiatives that promote balanced digital use and engagement in outdoor activities. It emphasizes the importance of prevention, early identification of digital dependency, and public awareness, while supporting research and partnerships with institutions to better understand the impacts of digital exposure. By integrating these measures within existing public health and child protection frameworks, the law seeks to promote holistic well-being and sustainable behavioral practices among children and adolescents.
