This Law establishes the Equine Passport within the State of Ceará, as an official electronic document for the registration and movement of equidae, including horses, donkeys, and mules. Issued by the State Agricultural Defense Agency (Adagri), the passport may be used, at the owner's discretion, as a substitute for the Animal Transit Guide (GTA) for movements within the state. The Law seeks to modernize the management of equine transport through a digital registration system that links each animal to verified ownership and health information. The Law further establishes detailed requirements for the passport, including animal identification through descriptive records, photographs, electronic microchipping, genealogical information where applicable, and records of vaccinations, clinical certificates, and laboratory tests required under veterinary legislation.
