Law No. 21.518 establishing the State Policy for Food Waste Reduction.

This Law establishes the State Policy for Food Waste Reduction. The State Policy will be governed by the following principles: adoption of management and conservation practices aimed at reducing waste; adequate use of surpluses and production waste, making them available for food collection and distribution centres. The State Public Power will take measures to reduce food waste, combined with policies to combat hunger and provide food assistance to the homeless population and needy communities, creating a food supply system, food collection and distribution centres.
