Abstract
This Law amends Law No. 20.081 of 2019 regulating the planting of exotic and native trees near electricity transmission and distribution lines in the State of Paraná. Its primary objective is to clarify responsibility for the pruning and removal of vegetation located within safety corridors surrounding electricity distribution infrastructure, assigning this responsibility directly to electricity distribution concessionaires. The amendment seeks to ensure the safe operation and maintenance of power networks while providing legal certainty regarding vegetation management in areas where trees may interfere with electricity lines. The Law also strengthens the protection of native vegetation by establishing that native trees located within the legally defined safety zones may only be cut with the express authorization of the competent environmental authority. An exception is provided for high-voltage transmission and distribution projects that already hold an operating licence expressly authorising the pruning or removal of native vegetation for safety corridor maintenance.
