Law No. 24.399 establishing the State Policy to Promote Ecological Paths and Routes.

This Law establishes the State Policy to Promote Ecological Paths and Routes within the State of Goiás. Its primary objective is to encourage the creation, maintenance, preservation, and promotion of ecological paths and routes while fostering ecotourism, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. The policy recognizes ecological paths as instruments for combining environmental protection with economic opportunities, particularly through the promotion of tourism activities that generate employment and income for local communities. It also seeks to strengthen environmental education and raise public awareness about the importance of conserving natural ecosystems and cultural heritage. The law further aims to enhance the social, cultural, and environmental value of ecological trails by promoting accessibility and inclusion for persons with disabilities or reduced mobility, encouraging sustainable trail management, and minimizing environmental impacts through monitoring mechanisms. It supports the development of standardized signage, training of environmental guides and monitors, community-based activities, and the use of sustainable technologies and renewable energy sources in parks and paths. In addition, the policy promotes cooperation among municipalities, local communities, academic institutions, landowners, and public and private entities to ensure the sustainable management, promotion, and long-term development of ecological routes throughout Goiás.
