Law No. 24.574 establishing the State Food Supply Policy (Peaa).

This Law establishes the State Food Supply Policy (Peaa). State actions aimed at food supply will meet the standards of the State Food Supply Policy – Peaa, in accordance with Law No. 22.806 of 29 December 2017, which deals with the State Policy on Sustainable Food and Nutrition Security – Pesans. Its implementation will observe the following principles and guidelines: I – promotion of food and nutritional sovereignty and security, with an emphasis on the availability and accessibility of food; II – valorization of socio-biodiversity products, agroecology and traditional ways of production; III – participation and social control; IV – encouraging healthy eating habits; V – surveillance regarding the quality and safety of food, from production to consumption.
