This Law establishes the guidelines and measures to prevent fires in risk areas during periods of drought in the Lakes Region of the State of Amapá. The State Executive Branch will be responsible to set up a Fire Prevention Committee for droughts, made up of representatives of the public authorities, civil society organisations and fire-fighting specialists, responsible for: I - identifying and mapping for risk areas in the State; II - drawing up plans to prevent fires in periods of drought; III - developing public awareness campaigns on fire prevention; IV - coordinating fire response actions when they occur. The drought fire prevention plans drawn up by the Drought Fire Prevention Committee, as provided above, will be updated annually.
