Law No. 3.426 on the Policy on Plant Health Inspections in the State of Amapá.

This Law establishes the State Policy on sanitary inspection of plant-based products in the State of Amapá, with the primary objective of regulating the inspection and control of vegetable products and subproducts intended for human consumption, including industrial and artisanal goods. It seeks to ensure the identity, quality, safety, and hygienic-sanitary standards of such products, while protecting consumers, public health, and the environment. The law assigns responsibility to the state authority (DIAGRO) to implement inspection, classification, and monitoring systems across the entire production and commercialization chain, and mandates compliance by all actors involved. A further central objective is to establish a comprehensive system of inspection, certification, and control of production processes, including the enforcement of good manufacturing practices, traceability, and sanitary standards at all stages—from raw material sourcing to final distribution. The law also aims to combat fraud, adulteration, and clandestine production, while enabling regulatory oversight through registration of establishments, continuous monitoring, and application of sanctions. Through these mechanisms, it promotes food safety, consumer protection, sustainable agro-industrial practices, and institutional coordination, strengthening the governance of plant-based food systems within the state
