Law No. 5.729 creating the Green Seal for Cabruca and Amazônia Cocoas.

This Law creates the Green Seals for Cabruca and Amazônia Cocoas, with the aim of attesting to the sustainability and social and environmental interest of Brazilian cocoa farming. These Cocoa's Green Seals may be awarded to cocoa farmers who meet the following criteria: observe all national, state and municipal environmental and labour laws; cultivate cocoa in the cabruca agro-forestry modality in the Atlantic Forest biome, for which the Cabruca Cocoa Green Seal will be granted, or in the form of agro-forestry systems in the Amazon Forest biome, for which in the same way the Amazon Cocoa Green Seal will be granted, in order to conserve biological diversity and its associated values, water resources, soils, ecosystems and fragile or unique landscapes, maintaining the ecological functions of the forest as much as possible; explore the activity in a sustainable manner, as long as it does not distort the existing vegetation cover and does not harm the environmental function of the area.
