Abstract
This Law establishes the Family Farming Seal Programme within the State of Mato Grosso do Sul. The Programmes aims at promoting and adding value to the sale of artisanal products from family farms, ensuring that they meet food safety and product safety standards, in accordance with federal, state, and municipal health regulations applicable to the matter. The inspection and supervision of family farming products will be carried out in an equitable and standardized manner, using methods such as risk analysis and critical control points, to ensure that production and marketing practices comply with health criteria, without compromising the viability and sustainability of small producers, with a view to: I - adding value to production through the issuance of identity and quality seals; II - promoting food and nutritional security for the population. The Family Farming Seal will only be granted to products that have been previously inspected, analysed, and approved by the competent authority.
