Law No. 6.738 on guidelines for the prevention and eradication of child labour and creating the Red June (Junho Vermelho).

This Law establishes the guidelines for the prevention and eradication of child labour and creates the month dedicated to raising awareness and actions to prevent and eradicate child labour (called Red June - Junho Vermelho). The State Public Power, aiming to prevent and eradicate child labour within the State will be guided, among others, by the following guidelines: comprehensive and integrated care for children, adolescents and their families; promotion of cultural transformations in the protection of children and adolescents with a focus on the Child and Adolescent Statute; raising awareness among society about the importance of donations to the State Fund for Children and Adolescents (FECA) and other forms of support; service provided by a specialized team in an integrated and intersectoral manner, with the objective of removing children and adolescents from child labour, through specific measures; dissemination of the rights of children and adolescents to students, family members, professionals and community members; clarification for companies on the federal legislation that allows the technical-professional training of young people aged 14 to 24, through government organizations and programmes duly registered with the competent State bodies, etc.
