Abstract
This Law establishes the State Policy for Forests and other forms of vegetation, laying down the set of principles, objectives and instruments for action, in order to provide sustainable production of forestry goods and services, conservation of ecosystems and improvement of the quality of life within the State of Amapá. The objectives of the State Policy are: integrate forestry policy actions with other actions; ensure the availability of renewable natural flora resources for future generations; promoting the inventory and monitoring of the state's forest resources; maintaining systems of records and information inherent to the forestry area; promote the preservation of flora resources and their genetic heritage; monitor plant endangered and rare species, as well as endemic species; guarantee access to biodiversity; guarantee access to public forests through forest concessions; encourage the establishment of associative forms in forest exploitation and the use of other natural flora resources; guarantee access to related information; promote and support the development and dissemination of transfer of technologies relating to the utilisation of forests; setting up protection programmes to prevent and control pests, diseases, forest fires, etc.
