Law No. 7.309 establishing the Policy for Promoting the Popular and Solidarity Economy of the State of Pará.

This Law establishes the Policy for Promoting the Popular and Solidarity Economy of the State of Pará and the development of organized self-managed groups of economic activities, in order to integrate them into the market and make its activities self-sustainable, through programmes, projects, partnerships with the private sector, agreements, etc. Popular Solidarity Economy is considered to be civil society initiatives aimed to generate a product or service, through organization, cooperation, democratic management, solidarity, equitable distribution of collectively produced wealth, self-management, integrated and sustainable local development, respect for the balance of ecosystems, the appreciation of human beings and work and the establishment of equal relationships between men and women.
The State Policy has the following objectives: I - generate work and income; II - support the organization and registration of Popular Solidarity Economy enterprises; III - support the introduction of new products, processes and services into the market, considering local potentiality; IV - promote the aggregation of knowledge and the incorporation of technologies in Popular Solidarity Economy enterprises; V - reduce vulnerability and prevent the bankruptcy of enterprises; VI - consolidate enterprises that have growth potential; VII - provide the association between researchers, partners and enterprises; VIII - stimulate intellectual production on the topic, such as studies, research, publications and teaching material to support Popular Solidarity Economy enterprises; IX - create and consolidate an entrepreneurial culture, based on the values of the Popular Solidarity Economy; X - educate, train and technically train workers in Popular Solidarity Economy enterprises, etc.
