Abstract
This Law establishes guidelines for the State Policy to promote the restoration of wildlife populations in degraded, protected and sustainably managed areas, with a view to conserving biodiversity and ecological balance within the State of Amazonas. In particular, the objectives of this Law are: reintroduce native wildlife species in areas where they are extinct or threatened; promote the recovery of ecosystem services associated with the presence of wildlife, such as pollination, pest control and seed dispersal; encourage scientific research and monitoring of reintroduced populations; strengthen participatory environmental management, involving local communities, indigenous peoples and quilombolas in reintroduction projects; contribute to the recovery of degraded habitats and the preservation of ecological corridors; and raise awareness in society about the importance of wildlife for environmental balance and sustainability.
