Abstract
This Law, consisting of 267 articles divided into seven Titles, establishes the Statute of the Child and Adolescent. It states that child and the adolescent enjoy all the fundamental rights inherent to the human person, ensuring all the opportunities and facilities, in order to physical, mental, moral, spiritual and social development, in conditions of freedom and dignity, including to expand assistance to pregnant women and mothers during pregnancy, prenatal care and the postpartum period. The rights enunciated in this Law apply to all children and adolescents, without discrimination of birth, family status, age, sex, race, ethnicity or colour, religion or belief, disability, personal development and learning condition, economic condition, environment social, place of residence or other condition that differentiates the persons, families or community in which they live. Title II Chapter V deals with the Child Right to Professionalism and Protection at Work, establishing that any work under the age of fourteen, except as an apprentice, is prohibited. It is considered as learning activity the technical and professional training given according to the guidelines and bases of the education legislation in force.
