Abstract
This Law establishes the Rural Sustainable Youth Seal (Selo Juventude Rural Sustentável) in the State of Amazonas. The main objective of the law is to encourage companies, cooperatives, public entities, and civil society organizations to undertake effective actions that support rural youth development. Through an annual recognition mechanism, renewable upon continued compliance, the seal seeks to promote greater social and economic opportunities for young people living in rural areas while acknowledging institutions that contribute to their inclusion and empowerment. The law identifies a range of actions that may qualify an entity for the seal, including the provision of technical and entrepreneurial training, the inclusion of young people aged 16 to 29 in productive rural activities, the promotion of sustainable practices and technological innovation in agriculture, and the improvement of working conditions and safety for rural youth. It also encourages support for market access for agricultural and agro-industrial products, partnerships with educational and research institutions, and the dissemination of public policies aimed at strengthening young people’s permanence in rural communities. The law further provides for regulations governing the criteria, evaluation procedures, renewal, and management of the seal.
