Law No. 8.180 establishing the State Awareness Campaign on the Risks of Toxic Ornamental Plants for Children and Domestic Animals within the State of Amazonas.

This Law establishes a State Campaign in the State of Amazonas aimed at raising public awareness about the risks posed by toxic ornamental plants to children and domestic animals. The law’s objectives are to inform the population about the dangers associated with the presence of toxic plants in domestic, school, and collective environments; to disseminate, through accessible educational means, information on the main plant species that pose risks to human and animal health; to alert the public to symptoms of poisoning resulting from ingestion or contact with such plants; and to promote preventive and educational actions in schools, health facilities, agricultural fairs, pet shops, and commercial establishments selling plants and flowers, thereby encouraging safer environments and informed choices for households and communities.
