Abstract
This Law promotes the reuse of organic waste generated by the fisheries industry in the State of Amazonas, with the primary objective of transforming fish-processing by-products into sustainable products such as animal feed, organic fertilizers, and biofertilizers. By encouraging the recovery and productive use of materials that would otherwise be discarded, the law seeks to reduce environmental impacts associated with fish-processing activities while creating economic opportunities through the development of value-added products derived from fisheries residues. The law further aims to support research and technological innovation related to the utilization of fisheries waste, as well as to strengthen the participation of micro and small enterprises, cooperatives, and associations engaged in these activities. It encourages partnerships with educational and research institutions for training and the dissemination of good practices and promotes public awareness of the environmental and economic benefits of waste reuse. All initiatives developed under the law must comply with the principles of environmental sustainability, economic viability, and sanitary safety, thereby fostering a more circular and sustainable fisheries sector in Amazonas.
