Abstract
This Law establishes the State Policy on Rural Education and Training for Sustainable Agricultural Development (PEECR-AM) in the State of Amazonas, with the primary objective of improving the professional qualifications and technical education of rural producers and workers. The policy seeks to promote sustainable agricultural development, improve living conditions in rural areas, strengthen family farming, and support environmental conservation. Its guiding principles include territorial and regional development adapted to the Amazon biome, social and productive inclusion of family farmers, rural women, youth, traditional communities, and Indigenous peoples, as well as the promotion of innovation, research, food security, technical assistance, and the valorization of local knowledge and practices. To achieve these objectives, the law provides for the development of training programmes, technical education courses, and capacity-building activities focused on sustainable agriculture, agroecology, forest management, sustainable extractivism, artisanal fisheries, rural entrepreneurship, value addition to agricultural products, environmental legislation, land regularization, and digital technologies. It also encourages the creation and strengthening of rural education institutions, the transfer of technologies adapted to Amazonian conditions, applied research, and networks for exchange of experiences among rural producers
