Law No. 9.288 establishing the Programme to Strengthen the Rice Production Chain in the State of Sergipe (PROASE).

This Law establishes the Programme to Strengthen the Rice Production Chain in the State of Sergipe (PROASE). PROASE aims to promote the growth and strengthening of the rice production chain by pooling the efforts of public and private institutions linked to the rice sector. PROASE's objectives are: to implement actions aimed at: a) the development of rice cultivars adapted to regional conditions; b) the use of sustainable techniques in rice cultivation; c) the modernization and adaptation of the rice processing industry in the state; promoting and expanding the logistics and primary rice processing infrastructure in the producing regions; encouraging the production and use of certified rice seeds; disseminating innovative technologies, providing the actors in the production chain with the necessary training; setting up a research and Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) network specializing in the rice production chain; attracting support for research and rural extension institutions; planning collective actions aimed at promoting the development of rice farming in Sergipe.
