Law No. 9.885 creating the State Programme for the Development of Artisanal and Organic Production in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

This Law establishes the State Programme for the Development of Artisanal and Organic Production, which aims to develop and encourage the artisanal process and to maintain the generation of work and income and strengthening cultural traditions. The objectives of this Law also deal with the production of craft beers. Artisanal and organic production that meets specific criteria below specified will be certified by the State Government: compliance with municipal, State and federal environmental standards; adoption of sustainable and environmentally friendly practices; respect for health and safety standards for production and the product; permission for public visits on specific days.
