Abstract
This Order recognizes as species of fish and aquatic invertebrates of Brazilian fauna threatened with extinction those included in the Official National List of Species of Fauna Threatened with Extinction (Fish and Aquatic Invertebrates - Annex I), in compliance with arts. 6 and 7 of Order No. 43 of 31 January 2014. The species included in the List, classified in the categories Extinct in the Wild (EW), Critically Endangered (CR), Endangered (EN) and Vulnerable (VU) are fully protected, including the prohibition of capture, transportation, storage, custody, handling, processing and trade, which may only be permitted for research purposes or for the conservation of the species, with authorization from the Chico Mendes Institute for Conservation of Biodiversity. These restrictions do not apply to species reproduced in captivity, duly licensed by a competent environmental agency, in accordance with approved National Action Plans for the Conservation of Endangered Species (PAN).
