Abstract
This Resolution establishes a classification for fresh, brackish and marine waters. It consists of 41 articles establishing quality standards for the classification of every type of waters. It lists maximum residue limit of chemical elements to be content in waters for different uses (such as: quality standards for freshwater use, marine waters exploitation, aquaculture, etc.). This Resolution also establishes that controls and sanctions for offenders shall be carried out according to Act No. 6.938 of 31 August 1981 regulated by Decree No. 88.351 of 1 June 1983.
