Abstract
This Law, consisting of 25 articles divided into three Titles and two Annexes (approved by Law No. 8.633 of 19 June 2018), creates the Institute for Forestry Development and Biodiversity of the State of Pará (IDEFLOR-Bio) and the State Fund for Forestry Development (FUNDEFLOR). The Law aims at managing the public forests for sustainable production and biodiversity, as well as the state policy for the production and development of the forestry products, the execution of policies for the preservation, conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, fauna and flora terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems in the State of Pará. Annex I provides for the Environmental Compensation Chamber of the State of Pará (CCA) aimed at defining the Conservation Units (CUs) to be benefited, considering the studies presented and new CUs. Annex II establishes the Environmental Compensation Fund and the Environmental Performance Bonus aimed at financing activities for the creation, management, implementation, monitoring, investment, protection and regularization of Conservation Units and their buffer zones, according to Federal Law No. 9.985 of 18 July 2000.
