Abstract
This Act establishes the Health Department. It also appoints the Chief Medical Officer as the principal adviser and chief executive officer of the Minister. The Act furthermore provides rules relative to the protection of public health in the Bahamas.
The Act, among other things, prohibits persons suffering from infectious diseases to carry out certain commercial activities in the food sector and provide measures for the control of health conditions in dairies so as to prevent the spreading of infectious diseases affecting human beings through milk.
