Abstract
This Bhutan Drinking Water Quality Standard have been developed in accordance with Section 13 (f) and Section 42 (a) and (b) of the Water Act of Bhutan, 2011, aiming to ensure safe drinking water and protect public health.
The Standard shall apply to all drinking water supplies managed by water service providers, including water supplies managed by water user associations, institutions, and households.
The Standard sets parameters and maximum allowable limits for drinking water in Bhutan. It also includes definitions of terminology, the normative references guiding drinking water quality, reference standards for unspecified parameters, the roles and responsibilities of implementing agencies, monitoring, water safety plans, data management and reporting, and compliance criteria.
