Abstract
The purpose of this Act is to provide legal framework for the formation of Cooperatives in order to facilitate economic development.
It provides among other things for: the classification of cooperatives and the requirements for their registration; purposes of cooperatives which shall include the contribution to the development of agriculture, industry and service sectors of the local economy; and the financial management of cooperatives.
