Grid Code Regulation, 2008.

The purpose of this regulation is to establish the basic rules, procedures, guidelines and standards to be followed by the various Licensees and all power utilities connected to the Transmission System so as to plan, develop, maintain and ensure secure, reliable and efficient operation of the Transmission System in economic manner.
The relevant roles of the Ministry, Bhutan Electricity Authority, system operator, transmission licensee, distribution licensees are outlined. “Licensee” means any person issued with a Licence pursuant to Section 22 of the Electricity Act of Bhutan, 2001. The responsibilities of transmission system users are also outlined.
