Abstract
These regulations are made in exercise of the power vested by section 300 of the Local Government Act, 2009. The objective of these regulations is to enable the reconfiguration of land boundaries in land pooling areas to facilitate appropriate infrastructure and development, and receive contribution towards the cost of infrastructure from the owners of land receiving special benefit from such infrastructure. The principals to be considered by the local government while making a land pooling scheme is laid down. The procedure to be followed, including feasibility study, issuing public notice, declaring the land pooling area, and finalisation of the land pooling scheme are provided. The contribution towards costs of the scheme and principles to be applied for designing configuration of plots is laid down. The rules for public consultation and implementation of the land pooling scheme are provided in the regulations.
