National Biogas Implementation Strategy, 2020.

This strategy provides for a framework guidance to enhance the accessibility to biogas technologies and identify the roles and responsibilities of relevant stakeholders such as the executing agency, implementation agency, decision makers, and beneficiaries. It also provides for enhancing collaboration in the promotion of the biogas technology in the country. The strategic objectives include developing, strengthening and facilitating access to biogas plants; upscaling of biogas plants; building capacity through training and advocacy; and making biogas plants sustainable by adopting strategic measures in place. The standard application process for adoption of biogas plant is laid down along with strategies for project implementation, technical standards and specifications, quality control, operation and maintenance, development and promotion, sustainability and commercialization, monitoring and evaluation. The criteria for selection of beneficiaries is also described.
