National Energy Efficiency & Conservation Policy of Bhutan 2019.

This Policy provides for energy efficiency and conservation measures for promotion of sustainable use of energy in Nepal. The rationale relates to contribution of Nepal's global commitments on climate change and SDG goals to reduce emissions and lower environmental pollution. The objectives of the Policy are laid down which include improving energy security, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and creating enabling environment for private sector participation. The specific focus is on building, appliances, industry and transport sectors. The institutional arrangement is discussed and the development of a monitoring, reporting and verification mechanism is provided, to periodically assess the effectiveness of measures and implementation of the Policy.
