A Roadmap and Strategy for Strengthening Climate Change Research in Bhutan (2021-2025).

This roadmap document provides for a framework for strengthening climate change research in Bhutan. The objectives include enhancing and generating knowledge and information on climate change to support climate action, strengthening and streamlining institutional mechanisms to support climate change research, providing easy access to climate change research data and information for policy makers, decision makers, researchers, and stakeholders, and generating locally feasible adaptation technologies and mitigation strategies. The principles to be followed are laid down along with the five strategic imperatives: 1. Tackle Issues Which Matter; 2. Strengthen Institutions & Networks, Inspire leaders & Empower Researchers; 3. Operationalize a Climate Information, Research & Services Portal (CRISP); 4. Mainstream & Strengthen Pedagogy, Outreach & Capacity Building; and 5. Establish the Bhutan Science Foundation. The action items and milestones to be achieved are identified and the monitoring and evaluation plan is provided.
