Abstract
The Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board is established under section 3 as a body corporate. The Board shall consist of eight to ten members appointed by the Minister under section 4. The Board shall appoint a General Manager and other staff in accordance with section 9. Functions of the Board are outlined in section 10. It shall be its task to secure to producers and consumers a stable market for schedules produce, and in this framework to carry out all other functions specified in this section including buying of all scheduled produce offered to it by producers at a minimum price and to ensure adequate supplies of scheduled produce. Powers of the Board are outlined in the same section. The Board shall establish a stabilisation fund under section 12 and a development fund under section 13. The Board shall draw up an annual report on its undertakings and submit this report to the Minister (sect. 17). "Scheduled produce" is specified in the First Schedule and includes (products and planting material of) sorghum, maize and wheat. (21 sections completed by 2 Schedules)
