Abstract
These Regulations make provision for the inspection and control of poultry meat industries and the handling of poultry meat. They also define the conditions for the marketing of fresh meat and concern the transportation of poultry meat.
The Regulations, among other things: provide for the licensing of abattoirs, cutting premises, cold storage and wrapping centres; specify powers of veterinary officers, Official Veterinary Surgeons and meat inspectors; and provide in relation with health marking. Specific and exhaustive rules relative to construction and hygienic conditions of slaughterhouses, the handling of meat and inspections can be found in the Schedule to these Regulations.
