Abstract
These Regulations place restrictions on the killing of lions by defining precise conditions in this respect and declares that section 46 of the Wildlife Conservation and National Parks Act shall not apply in respect of a lion. Section 46 permits the owner or occupier of land, or any agent of such owner or occupier to kill any animal which caused, is causing or threatens to cause damage to any livestock, crops, water installation or fence on such land. Damage to livestock by a lion or the killing of a lion shall be reported to the nearest wildlife office or police station. Only lions that threaten livestock may be killed but the owner of livestock must prove that certain precautionary measures in respect of the livestock were taken and shall leave all proof relative to killing of the lion untouched for investigation purposes.
