Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of Georgia on cooperation in the field of science and technology.

The Parties shall develop and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and technology, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. The Parties will promote the development of long-term cooperation in the field of science and technology directly between scientific and scientific-industrial organizations of both countries on the basis of the concluded agreements between the aforesaid organizations. In these agreements shall be determined the subject, procedure, financial provisions and other terms of cooperation. The Parties will develop scientific and technical cooperation in the field of advanced technologies, including information and communication technologies, fundamental and applied research. Scientific and technical cooperation between the Parties shall be carried out in following forms: (a) exchange of scientific and technical information; (b) implementation of joint scientific and technical projects; (c) exchange of scientists, researchers and specialists for conducting research and developments of mutual interest; (d) participation in scientific events (conferences, symposia, seminars, internships) in accordance with the preliminary agreement between the Parties; (e) organization and implementation of joint activities in the scientific and technical sphere; and (f) other forms of cooperation as per the preliminary agreement between the Parties. The Parties shall carry out cooperation in the following areas: (a) environmental protection; (b) energy; (c) biotechnologies; (d) agriculture; (e) water management; and (f) exploration of subsoil and mining.
